About This Course

  • To enlighten students the study of history chronologically from Ancient, Medieval and Modern period of not just India, but that of the world as well.

  • To impart the significance of sources in learning history and the transitioning phrases from pre-historic ages that submerged into acculturation which became part of human civilization.

  • To facilitate the understanding of the history of Europe and terminologies that emerged in history from Feudal age to the French Revolution.

  • To inculcate a comprehensive understanding of the major events that revolutionized the East Asia and North-East India.

  • To enlighten students on the regional history as well from the perspective of the coming of Christianity in Nagaland, their course of interaction with different tribes and the ensuing political changes.

  • To instill comprehensive understanding of events that marked the epoch of the world, the nation, the region and the local history.

Programme Outcomes

  • Understanding the basic assumptions in various economic theories and enhance capabilities of developing ideas based on them.

  • Students will be able to get a glimpse on how history has passed on its legacy in terms of human as a community, as society and as religion that evolved with time.

  • Students will be able to understand the idea of expansionist policy, the new intellect idea that emerged from Europe and how wars and revolutions has changed the course of mankind in the world in general and that of India in particular.

  • Students will be able to understand the concept of identity, how human civilization in the world existed along with historical sources for studying the past, finally, they will be able to answer why certain religion and dynasties flourished, and declined.

  • Students will be able to understand from historical perspective, the social reforms which paved the way for India's independence, its partition and its contemporary realpolitik.
