About This Course

  • To offer the students a comprehensive overview and understanding of the origins, goals, research methods and fields of specialization in Psychology.

  • To generate testable hypotheses and design psychological research using different methods, data collection tools, and analysis techniques.

  • To use critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry, and a scientific approach to address issues related to behavior and mental processes in society.

  • To provide knowledge and understanding of brain, mind and behaviour relationship with the help of current developments in the field of neuroscience, scientific theories, clinical and real-life examples.

  • Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.

  • Students will be able to design, implement, and communicate basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretations.

  • Students will be able to apply psychological principles to individual, interpersonal, group, and societal issues.

  • Students will demonstrate breadth of knowledge of empirically supported clinical interventions and evidence ability to select treatments for individual clients based on a variety of psychotherapy theories and in-depth knowledge of one chosen theory of intervention.
