Dimapur, Nagaland – January 28, 2026 – Tetso College, in collaboration with One Window and The Placement Channel, today made history by hosting the first-ever International Education Fair in Nagaland with Honourable Shri Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education for Nagaland, gracing the event as the chief guest. The event, held on the college campus, successfully brought together representatives from 30 prestigious universities and institutions across 11 countries, offering Naga students unprecedented access to global educational pathways.
The inaugural programme opened with a traditional welcome address by Kvulo Lorin, Chairman of Tetso College. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the transformative vision behind the initiative. "The purpose is to get exposure, expand possibilities, and create a system where students can go abroad and even exchange cultures," stated Lorin. "Our vision is simple—to bridge the gap, connect our students to global opportunities, and help them make informed choices for their future."
Echoing this sentiment, Deepraj Gahatraj, Executive Director of One Window, highlighted the fair's role in democratizing information. "The purpose of this fair is to bring information to your doorstep," he said. "Often, such crucial information begins in major metros and ends there. Today, we are breaking that barrier for the students of Nagaland."
The formal proceedings commenced with a vibrant cultural performance by the Tetso Dance Club, which showcased the rich tapestry of Naga tribes through a fusion of traditional and modern dance, symbolizing the blend of local roots with global aspirations.
In a special address, Shri Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education for Nagaland, lauded the endeavor as a critical gateway for the youth. "Times are changing, goals are being built in a different spectrum not only in infrastructure but also in knowledge bank and thought processes," Minister Along remarked. He identified knowledge as the key to unlocking potential, stating, "Lack of knowledge is the biggest roadblock to achieving dreams. We have a problem of unemployability, not unemployment." He urged students to seize the opportunity, saying, "If you want to build yourself and the community, put in more effort." The Minister also encouraged the organizers to scale the fair into a larger annual platform with government support.
Following the inaugural session, the Minister, along with other dignitaries, embarked on a tour of the education fair, visiting stalls and engaging in direct conversations with university representatives. Students had the unique opportunity to interact one-on-one with delegates from a diverse array of institutions, including Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Educational Testing Service (ETS), Post University, Syracuse University, Indiana University Indianapolis, South University, Graceland University, Webster University, Athens State University, the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing & Engineering, Park University, Western Michigan University, and California Baptist University from the USA; Masters' Union from India; IESEG School of Management, Ecole de Management Applique (EMA), and Aura International School of Management from France; the Analytics Institute of Australia and the Australian Performing Arts Conservatory (APAC) from Australia; Woosong University from South Korea; Domus Academy and the Italian Institute of Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management from Italy; GBS Dubai from the UAE; GBS Malta from Malta; MLA College from the UK; Schiller International University from Spain; and Swiss Educational College, International Management Institute, and the Swiss School of Business Management from Switzerland.
The fair also attracted a significant gathering of eager students and faculty from various educational institutions across the state, including ICFAI University, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), Unity College Dimapur, Rincho Academy, The Maple Tree, NEISSR, Charis High Academy, and Hope Academy.
The International Education Fair 2026 stands as a landmark initiative, firmly aligning with the government's and educational bodies' commitment to fostering global competencies, reducing the information gap, and empowering the next generation of Naga students to build their futures on the world stage.
