Tetso College held its Convocation Ceremony 2025 on 2nd August 2025 at Lorin Hall, honouring the academic accomplishments of its graduating students, with Prof. (Dr.) A. Elayaperumal Director, National Institute of Technology, Chümoukedima, Nagaland as the Commencement Speaker. The ceremony brought together students, faculty, family members, and dignitaries in a memorable celebration of achievement.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Asenla Yanger, Asst. Professor, Dept. of English, who served as the Chairperson for the event. The occasion commenced with a solemn Prayer of Thanksgiving led by Mr. Pongom S Khiam, Associate Pastor, Khiamniungan Baptist Church, Dimapur, invoking gratitude and blessings upon the graduating class and the college community.

Delivering the Principal’s Address, Dr. Hewasa L. Khing applauded the graduating class for their perseverance and resilience, especially in the face of global and personal challenges. She encouraged students to embrace the future with courage and integrity, grounded in the values instilled by their time at Tetso College and to continue striving for excellence.

Inspiring reflections were shared through Valedictorian Speeches delivered by Ms. Charabuni Kape, MA English, College Topper wherein she emphasised on the importance of preserving cultural identity in the midst of globalization and Ms. Neilanuo Metsie-O, BA Psychology Honours, NU Rank 1, used her opportunity to highlight the significance of understanding and maintaining a positive state of mental health. 

The convocation’s highlight was the inspiring commencement address by Prof. (Dr.) A. Elayaperumal, Director of the National Institute of Technology, Chümoukedima, Nagaland. He underscored the untapped potential of India’s Northeastern states, asserting that they could transition from being frontier regions to becoming the nation’s economic leaders in the next four decades. Prof. Elayaperumal’s vision positions the Northeast as a future hub of growth, innovation, and development, urging graduates to actively participate in this transformative journey.

He emphasized that the region’s rich natural resources, strategic geographical location, and cultural diversity provide a strong foundation for economic progress. By leveraging these strengths, the Northeast could drive India’s development narrative. His speech served as both a call to action and a reassurance, motivating students to contribute to this emerging economic shift.

Prof. Elayaperumal’s address resonated deeply, encouraging graduates to embrace opportunities in the region and become catalysts for change.

The ceremony concluded with the much-awaited Award of Degrees, where 248 graduates were formally conferred with their academic honours, a proud and symbolic moment marking the culmination of their academic journey.
