Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) sponsored National Seminar on "Sustaining The Future: Indigenous Knowledge and Historical Narratives in NorthEast India"

Keynote Speaker:

Prof. Amarjiva Lochan served in the Department of History as Professor, and former Dean at the prestigious institution of FSR & International Relations at the University of Delhi. Prof. Lochan is also the Founder-President of South and Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion (SSEASR). He has been appointed as Vice President in the International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR) under the CIPSH, UNESCO, and Adviser (Buddhist Projects), Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Prof. Lochan currently serves in the Ministry of Culture and Education Ministry of India in various capacities. He has also acted as Governing Council Member, India Centre for Migration (ICM), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. With major research thrust in Southeast Asia, Prof. Lochan examines into the issues of Indian Diaspora, Indic elements in Southeast Asia, and Buddhism. To his merit, he has 5 books and 35 research articles (mostly published in international journals). Additionally, he is Editor and also part of the Editorial Board of five reputed H- indexed/SCOPUS-indexed journals. At present, he is a visiting Professor at two international institutions. He has undertaken academic travel to 101 countries for research, lectures, and conferences.
