In a significant boost to regional academic research, the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) has sanctioned a substantial grant of ₹20,00,000 to two faculty of Tetso College for a Major Project Research initiative focused on rural women's empowerment in Nagaland.

The grant, officially announced on March 14, 2026, was awarded under the ICSSR’s Scheme Major and Minor Research Project (2025–26) for a proposal titled: “Quasi Experimental Evaluation of Integrated Government Scheme Supported Social Business Models for Women Entrepreneurial Empowerment in Rural Nagaland.”

The prestigious project is being jointly spearheaded by two distinguished academicians:

  • Dr. Wapangsenla Imchen, Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Management, Tetso College who will serve as the Project Director.
  • Dr. Ajay Chakraborty, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of Commerce, Tetso College who will serve as the Co-Project Director.

This selection highlights the academic excellence and robust research capabilities of the faculty members while emphasizing the critical need for evidence-based studies in underserved regions. The research aims to evaluate how integrated government schemes can effectively support social business models and empower female entrepreneurs in rural Nagaland.
